The 5 steps to qualify
for the Chauffez vert program

Eligible work and equipment are subject to change. That’s why checking the program’s conditions and requirements is important before carrying out any work.

Who can benefit from the Chauffez vert grant program?

An individual or company that legally owns a home or residential building in Quebec or its duly authorized agent.

Do you own more than one home? You can apply for each one.

What types of homes are eligible for the Chauffez vert program?

  • Single-family and semi-detached homes
  • Townhouses
  • Mobile homes
  • Four-season cottages
  • Multi-generational homes
  • Houses with an integrated unit
  • Triplexes
  • Small multi-unit residential buildings

What work is eligible for the Chauffez vert program?

  • Replacing an oil- or propane-fired heating system with one powered by a renewable energy source such as electricity. Please note: natural gas systems are not eligible.
  • Complete dismantling of the fossil fuel furnace or boiler and the oil or propane tank on condition that the work is carried out by a contractor holding the appropriate RBQ certifications.

What products are eligible for the Chauffez vert program?

Only new heating systems (furnace or boiler) powered by electricity or a combination of renewable energies are eligible.

Please note: heat pump installation work is no longer eligible for the Chauffez vert program. You must now register for Hydro-Québec’s Efficient Heat Pump program.

  • Proof of identity and ownership of the dwelling
  • Proof of old oil or propane system
  • Proof of purchase and installation of new system

Consult the Participant’s Guide (in french only) to make sure you have all the necessary documents.

Once you’ve completed your work, fill in the online application form (in french only).

Please note: you have a maximum of 6 months after the start date of the work to submit your subsidy application. Additional information and documents may be requested during the analysis process.

You’ll receive an e-mail confirming that your file is complete, and then, 4 to 6 weeks later, you’ll receive the financial assistance you’ve been awarded by mail.
