You can take care of a good portion of the regular maintenance of your
HVAC system by yourself?
Here are 9 simple actions you can safely perform:

Replace your filters and cartridges when dusty or according to the manufacturer’s instructions. If your HVAC system thermostat has a reminder option, remember to reset it!

Always keep your ventilation control (fan) in continuous operation mode for added comfort.

Clean the HVAC system air outlet grilles at least 1 or 2 times a year.

Have the air ducts cleaned every 4 to 5 years.

Clean the air exchanger filters, fan, Carrier heat recovery unit, and water drainage hoses according to the frequency recommended by the manufacturer.

Replace humidifier components as the manufacturer recommends, usually once a year. These components used in your humidifier model (cartridge, gasket or cylinder) vary.

Make sure to clear the space under your outdoor heat pump unit. Do not store anything underneath, and remove dead leaves and snow.

Clean the exterior of the outdoor unit with a standard garden hose.
- 9
Clean the interior of the HVAC unit following the manufacturer’s recommendations.
