HEAT PUMP

fleche My heat pump does not work, what do I do?

  • Check and reset the breaker related to the heat pump system in the main electrical panel as well as the disconnect box often located near the furnace.
  • Make sure that the thermostat is positioned on "heat".
  • Raise the thermostat at least 2 degrees above room temperature.
  • Make sure that the system air filters are clean. If they are dirty, the filters may need to be changed.
  • Check the ventilation outlets to make sure that the air coming out feels warmer then the room temperature.
  • If the system is still not functional, contact your KLIMFAX technician for an appointment.

CHAUFFAGE

fleche My oil furnace does not work, what do I do?

  • Check and reset the breaker related to the oil furnace system in the main electrical panel as well as the disconnect box often located near the furnace.
  • Make sure that the thermostat is positioned on "emergency heat" if this is an option on your thermostat.
  • Raise the thermostat at least 5 degrees above room temperature.
  • Make sure that the system air filters are clean. If they are dirty, the filters may need to be changed or cleaned.
  • Check the oil level of the oil tank.
  • Make sure to press only once on the reset button of the oil burner.
  • Check the ventilation outlets to make sure that the air coming out feels warmer then the room temperature.
  • If the system is still not functional, contact the KLIMFAX service department for an appointment.

AIR CONDITIONING

fleche My central air conditioner does not work, what do I do?

  • Check and reset the breaker related to the central air conditioning system in the main electrical panel. When you shut off the breaker, wait at least 30 seconds before turning it back on.
  • Make sure that the thermostat is positioned on "cool".
  • Lower the thermostat at least 3 degrees below room temperature.
  • Make sure that the system air filters are clean. If they are dirty, the filters may need to be changed or cleaned.
  • Check the ventilation outlets to make sure that the air coming out feels cooler then the room temperature.
  • If the system is still not functional, contact the KLIMFAX service department for an appointment.

fleche There is ice accumulating on my system, what do I do?

  • Turn the breaker related to the heat pump system in the main electrical panel off.
  • Check your thermostat to make sure that it is not below 72 degrees F / 21 degrees C.
  • Make sure that the system air filters are clean. If they are dirty, the filters may need to be changed or cleaned.
  • Make sure the ventilation of the furnace is on and functional.
  • If the system is still developing ice, contact the KLIMFAX service department for an appointment.

fleche There seems to be a lot of condensation on the outdoor unit. Is this normal?

  • This is very normal especially when the outdoor humidity is elevated.

fleche Water is leaking out of my indoor central system. What do I do?

  • Check your thermostat to make sure that it is not below 72 degrees F / 21 degrees C.
  • Make sure that the system air filters are clean. If they are dirty, the filters may need to be changed or cleaned.
  • If the system leaking, contact the KLIMFAX service department for an appointment.

fleche My system does not seem to supply enough cool air. What do I do?

  • Check the temperature of the air coming directly out of the vent. There air supply should feel obviously cooler then room temperature.
  • Make sure that the system air filters are clean. If they are dirty, the filters may need to be changed or cleaned.
  • If the system does not produce any cooling, contact the KLIMFAX service department for an appointment.

fleche The interior unit of my ductless system is leaking inside, what do I do?

  • Check your thermostat to make sure that it is not below 72 degrees F / 21 degrees C.
  • Make sure that the system air filters are clean.
  • While the air conditioner is on, look to see if any water comes out of the outdoor drain unless the drain was originally installed inside an indoor drain.
  • If the system is still leaking inside, shut your unit off and contact the KLIMFAX service department for an appointment.
